Season 2021 – 2022

May 8, 2022 @ 7:30pm – MONTREAL GUITAR TRIO

Montreal Guitar Trio © Jerry LoFaro

Described by the CBC as the “hottest” guitar ensemble in Canada, MG3 has quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with, as well as an interactive force in various musical forms. For over 20 years, the trio’s virtuosity, rigour, creativity and impressive stage presence — where humour and interacting with the public go hand in hand — have been winning over audiences around the world and have led them to noteworthy collaborations, especially with the California Guitar Trio. For the very first time, guitarists Sébastien Dufour, Glenn Lévesque and Marc Morin present a vibrant tribute to the music of Ennio Morricone, their most beloved composer. https://www.mg3.ca/

April 24, 2022  @ 2pm – Symphony of the Kootenays

Symphony of the Kootenays

SOTK transforms to La Sinfonía de los Kootenays to celebrate Spain! Composers from all around have been captivated by the “Land of the Setting Sun”, and it has inspired some of their best and most evocative music. Capriccio Espagnol is a great example, full of dance rhythms and vitality, it shows every bit of Rimsky-Korsakov’s skill in writing for orchestra. French composers Chabrier and Bizet also depicted Spain in symphonic music. The home team won’t be neglected either, with works by Da Falla and Turina filling out the evening. With all of this excitement in Creston’s Kootenay River Theatre, you won’t need a plane to experience this fiesta!  ¡Olé! https://www.sotk.ca/

April 02, 2022 @ 7:30pm – Big Little Lions

Big Little Lions

Big Little Lions has been described as ‘a blissful marriage of new folk and sophisticated pop.’ This award winning duo consists of Helen Austin and Paul Otten who, despite living thousands of miles apart, have found a way to connect and create music together. They are known for their prolific songwriting, infectious folk-pop style, and an offbeat, memorable live show. www.biglittlelions.com
